Fabulous Picture Not Completely Roku Friendly

The picture is great The 77-inch Oled G3 is expensive but definitely worth the money in my mind. However the one big ? complaint I have is the interface/integration with Roku. Roku does not recognize the G3 so the Roku device cannot control the volume and it cannot turn on/off the TV. Dont know if this is an LG or a Roku problem but it is an annoyance nonetheless. I did not have this problem with my previous 65-inch LG NanoCell tv.

Best OLED I have owned

Purchased the LG G3 77 from Best Buy last week. I had a LG C2 77 this is replacing. The C2 is an excellent television with a superb image. I mainly upgraded to try out the new MLA technology and I wanted the clean wall mounted look. So when buying this television I did not see the G3 side by side with the C2 so I could not predict how much better the G3 is and I felt this upgrade may be a risk. All I can say is the G3 phenomenal. The picture quality is very similar to the C2 both being evo panels of course but the MLA does work very well. I dont see a huge difference in SDR which is to be expected but when watching in Dolby Vision or HDR it gets VERY bright. I also see a difference in color volume and vibrance as the MLA does re-focus the light which makes the colors look more vibrant. This also could be due to the better processor and the new Color Boost Mode the television supports. Either way the G3 looks better gets much brighter has better motion and the cpu is faster when navigating through WebOS. The wall mounting was very easy and I just set the mount into studs for the safest and strongest configuration. The television included all hardware including anchors and lag screws. I ran all cables in the wall and the television sits flush against the sheetrock. It looks so clean and beautiful and compared to the C2 I had mounted you do not see any cables when looking at the t.v. from its side. I also own a Alienware QD-OLED gaming monitor so I have been able to compare color volume and vibrance between the WOED technology and Samsungs QD. I have not gamed on the G3 yet so I will set up the QD-OLED and the G3 on similar scenes to see if the G3 looks better with color than the C2 did. Compared to the C2 though the gaming mode did wash colors down a little bit and you could see a difference between the C2 and the increased vibrance of the QD-OLED. I believe this was due to the game mode on the C2 more than anything and when playing on the C2 alone you would never know the difference. Both technologies have their strengths and weaknesses. The LG panels are less prone to burn in though which that is a huge plus and why I did not go with the QD-OLED television set. Rtings has some good tests backing the findings so it is something to keep in mind when purchasing one of these televisions. I only hope my monitor wont suffer from it. When I do set the G3 in gaming Ill add what I see compared to the QD technology. My only complaint about the G3 is the remote. I do love the motion feature with the pointer. But it sufers from the same issue I had with the C2 and that is you have to click the power button multiple times to turn on the television. It gets frustrating as it is intermittent. Both the G3 controller and my C2 controller do it. My LG A1 OLED in my bedroom and my previous CX did not have this issue. So there is something going on with these newer controllers and I hope LG addresses it. But it is a minor complaint but this television is expensive and the controller should work and be responsive. This would not prevent me from buying a LG OLED though and of course it did not.

My LG 77 G3 tv is the most money that Ive ever spent on a tv but also one of the best buying decisions that Ive ever made. Wow What a great picture. I watched one of the Hobbit movies again in 4K and what a joyful experience. There are quite a few tvs that might compare to this tv but the MLA process in this model LG puts it a head and shoulder above all the rest. I hooked up an LG s90QY sound bar to it and it made the audio sound so much better. If you have the money buy it now. You will not be disappointed.

I had been looking at getting an oled tv for awhile a decided to go with Lg due to there history of making oled tvs and the MLA technology in the 77 G3 model. I bought as an early Christmas present but should have bought it earlier. The picture and colors are outstanding and are the best of any TV that I have owned. After installing the tv and turning on some normal content my wife walked into the room and said that picture looks fantastic. The Lg G3 is the tv to get.

Received Nov 16th. This replaced my OLED65CXPUA. So far there are no complaints. TV looks very good and playing 4K ref video off YouTube is spectacular. Also gaming is much better. It is stand mounted and hooked into a Sonos Playbar.

I bought the new G3 77 TV and it is amazing I honestly believe I have the best picture quality for a 4K TV in the industry. Im also enjoying the ability to stream my favorite shows with the Smart features. Plus the remote control is great. I am also surprised by the quality of the TV sound. Eventually I will probably add an LG sound bar but the TV sound is surprisingly good that I dont really need it. Overall I highly recommend the G3

Brighter brights

Ive owned three OLED TVs prior to the G3 of which two were LG C8 and B1. I continue to be impressed by what LG can deliver and the improvements of WOLED panels. Ive always been impressed by the picture quality of OLED panels but what has become more evident to me year to year is the importance of brightness and the G3 certainly delivers. Prior to the G3 picture quality between the different series were incremental improvements however for this model year LG brings MLA to the G3 series which increases the brightness of the panel an amount enough worth considering. While I typically consume most of my content in a dark room setting the G3 should definitely be considered for a bright room as well with just how bright this TV can get. With that said one of the things that I have come to appreciate more about LG TVs is webOS and the Magic Remote. LG has done a great job developing webOS and continues to support additional features such as DTS new for this year and Dolby Vision which may not be found on TVs at a similar price point. This is important because it makes consuming content from different sources easier - if youve ever seen a not compatible or unsupported message then you know exactly what this means. Additionally the Magic Remote makes navigating the OS simple and intuitive with its pointer which I have not yet seen on another TV. Overall I am very impressed with the LG G3 and the improvements LG continues to bring to its OLED TVs. Received Sweepstakes Entry for Review

Best and brightest OLED TV out there

I have never been as impressed with a TV as I am with the LG G3. Ive had high end OLEDs in the past including last years G2 and this one takes it to a whole other level. The most notable improvement is with brightness and reflection handling. But if youre not familiar with what an OLED brings to the table especially the G3 this TV has perfect blacks and amazing contrast and colors. It also was extremely easy to hang on my wall and looks great with the included mount that makes it flush against the wall. Back to brightness and colors though this is the brightest OLED Ive ever seen. And coupled with an anti reflective coating I dont see many people talking about it makes watching TV with the sun shining directly on the TV completely watchable even during dark scenes though dark scenes of course arent perfect but theyre actually watchable unlike past OLEDs. See the pictures to see what I mean. The sun is shining directly on the TV and its barely noticeable. You can see the coating when the screen is off and how it reflects light. As for the G3s sound I do prefer a dedicated sound system but the TV speakers are impressive for its size. The smart interface is also good but I do prefer the Android TV interface but thats just a personal preference. Its fast and easy to use and thats what matters the most. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who wants the best quality TV around because this checks all the boxes.

The G3 is everything you want in a TV.

Im a little biased in my take on this TV because I had starry eyes for the LG OLEDs for YEARS. Prices finally hit something I could do an I ended up with a 65 C1 and thought I would stick with that TV forever. Fast forward 3 years and Ive moved to the 77 G3. Because the C1 was no good? NO The C1 was spectacular but the sirens call of a bigger TV could not be denied. But is it too big? Yes and no. I am nearsighted and was looking forward to the TV engulfing my view but sitting 7ft away from the TV was too much I began to experience eye fatigue and had to move further back. Now Im viewing from around 10ft. Much better. Picture size is a pretty easy bragging feature 77 is enormous but the real draw here is the QUALITY of the picture which is hard to convey in words. Its worth it to find a demo unit at a retail location so you can see it for yourself. I cant go into technical detail on the color reproduction but I can tell you that the colors are striking especially the reds. Most of the content Im watching is coming from 4k blu-rays on a dedicated player and the image quality is second to none. My real passion is watching older films that have been restored and WOW Criterions Double Indemnity? Its hard to believe what a difference a TV like this can make in a black-and-white film but it is incredible Modern films pop in just the way you would hope and the spectral highlights of bright lights in dark pictures are wild. Favorite? Look at the lights glinting off the night time water in JAWS before they go diving. Gaming is the other stand out feature here. Ive used both my PC and a PS5 and again the WOW-factor is ever present. The variable refresh rate and G-sync compatibility makes this an ideal TV for gaming at large sizes. Its another thing that is hard to put into words if youve never seen variable refresh rate at work but if you are coming from a TV without it you will be absolutely blown away at how much better your games look with it. The previous paragraphs image quality applies to gaming as well. Modern consoles are impressive on their own but this is an upgrade where you will see your money on-screen in the image quality. Didnt do much with the built-in sound as I used the eARC functionality to push audio out to an attached receiver. It has worked just fine. On-board smart features are okay. I still found myself preferring a third party solution which is more a personal preference. The provided apps were snappy and gave me no issues. I just like the Apple TV. Final note: this TV is brighter than any TV I have ever seen. If youre worried about a well-lit room I wouldnt be worried any more. In my basement it was actually too much and I had to spend a few viewing sessions playing with the overall brightness to find a setting that didnt result in significant eye fatigue. I settled on 35-45 in the OLED brightness settings. Overall the most impressive TV Ive ever seen in person. Technology is always improving but the G3 and I are going to be together for a long time.

The 77-inch LG OLED screen is a visual feast delivering stunning colors and deep blacks that truly enhance the viewing experience. Its thin and sleek design adds a touch of elegance to any room and the included AI features make navigation a breeze. With a plethora of smart functions and excellent connectivity options it seamlessly integrates with other devices in a professional setting. However I must mention that one drawback I experienced was the quick price drop within six weeks of my purchase. As a professional I always look for cost-effective solutions and it was disappointing to see the price decrease shortly after acquiring this massive OLED TV. Additionally while the TV is exceptional I was surprised to find that the optional TV stand was not included in the package. Given the premium price of this television I expected a more complete setup out of the box for any user for multiple years to come. Overall I do appreciate the top-notch tech that combines performance and aesthetics and the LG OLED G3 does just that. Despite these minor criticisms whether its for work presentations or leisure this G3 is a superb addition to any tech-savvy professionals toolkit.

Incredible picture bright and clear

Bought a few weeks ago to replace a previous flagship Vizio P75QX-H1 led set. I was worried about peak brightness as the vizio can put out a 40 peak over the G3 however my fears were completely unfounded. In SDR viewing aka the majority of the time the difference is indistinguishable and Id argue that in HDR/dolby vision content its hardly noticable. Instead what is noticeable are the true blacks with no bloom how much cleaner the image appears due the far superior gradient control uniformity and lack of DSE and how much better motion control and upscaling is on the set. theres a few things I miss like being able to update settings via my phone without having to bring up the on-screen menu but I wont miss the V-brand software update nightmare crashing flickering etc. The G3 is everything it claims to be and more. Glad I chose this over the C3 model and stretched my budget a bit. Only oddity is that I have a MR22A remote instead of the MR23N/GN remote this unit is supposed to have.

I have owned three LG OLED TVs before I got my OLED77G3PUA and was extremely pleased with each one of them. LG makes exceptional products. But the picture on my new 2023 77 is truly Exceptional I now know why the CNET TV reviewer call it the best TV that he has reviewed. No matter what I watch its great but when we watch a movie it is an unbelievable experience. The TV has 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision/Atmos I dont know what more I could ask.

TV is awesome. Just a complaint on the bracket. It should be made to fit on the wall studs thus not needing the dry wall anchors. I had to drill on an angle to get one side of the bracket thru a stud. the other side went in flush. I first installed the tv on a Veso 300x300 mount and it bent the bracket so I used the LG mount and we used 3 people to hold the tv and the other to guide us where the screws are on the bracket to hold it. Little stressed doing that.

Lovely TV but wall mount poorly designed.

This appears to be a LOVELY TV - but the included wall mount for flush to the wall mounting is totally unsuitable for use in the typical interior wall construction in the US drywall on wooden studs 16 inches on center. Unlike all other aftermarket wall mounts the included mount will fit in only ONE position with both ends attached to wooden studs there is no ability to shift the TV left or right to center it as the end user may desire the mount is barely wide enough to span two studs. I cant believe LG sells a TV touting its ability to mount flush on the wall when such an installation cant accommodate shifting the TV from side to side. Your options are opening the wall to install blocking to which the mount can be secured or using an aftermarket mount and losing the flush mount capability. TV rating: 5 - wall mount rating: 0.

I placed the TV in a room with one wall that is all windows. The morning light is very bright and then room gets much darker in the afternoon. No matter what the ambient room lighting is this TV produces vivid images. I moved up from a 48 in TV so this upgrade is just amazing. I can now read all the text from a distance. I would recommend this TV to anyone. I also purchased the S95QR soundbar which makes watching 4k movies with Dolby that much better.

Amazing OLED TV. Bought it a month ago and currently using it with Apple TV and PS5. Automatically switches between Dolby vision and HDR based on input. I use a Sonos arc and Dolby audio never sounded better. Integrates with Apple HomeKit for automation. Excellent number of ports all of them hdmi 2.1. The best part is the brightness OMg cant be explained. You can turn up the brightness to insane levels on this tv. I have it in a bright room and no issues to reflection so far. Comes with a mount and really thin design. Gives you a lot of customization options even allows you to turn off lg logo while shutting down never seen that before. I have the 77 inch since 83 doesnt have the mla pannel. I considered Samsung s95c color was artificially rich Sony a95l crazy pricing and only 2 hdmi 2.1 ports. This is an excellent tv and you will not be disappointed with the image quality and features.

I compared all of the top tier TVs and this one was the best picture very bright. OLED is magnificent. The WEB OS is great everything you need is there but some of the features are hard to find. Wi-Fi streaming is easy to setup and use. Sound is great right out of the box voices are easy to understand.

At first I thought we made the most expensive mistake of our lives so far but boy was I wrong - be sure to double check the settings on each app / streaming device you use and youll be sure to have a picture that is amazingly clear precise and lifelike. The blacks are so deep and never washed out. Sources of light like lanterns or lit windows look SO real its as if youre actually there. Notably we have used our OLED at times where there was peak light coming in from outside and there hasnt been a problem with glare nor the screen being too dim. I wasnt sure if the cost to upgrade would be worth it but man am I blown away.

LG OLEDs are unanimously considered the best. Everything from the reliability of their firmware to the ease of use of their OS to the picture quality has been #1. For almost a decade. One thing that might have held OLED back was the brightness of the screens. NO MORE. The new MLA panel allows the OLED G3 to hit a MASSIVE 1600 nits bright. Lets just say 1000 nits bright is fantastic. So just imagine 1600. Im talking the screen is bright enough to light up my entire living room. Explosions are forever changed for me in movies. That alone is worth the price of admission and dedicating the money I wouldve spent in theatres over the new few years into this instead. I mean it just blows you away - no pun intended. Those perfect blacks those vivid colors that insane level of detail at a eye searing brightness level is unheard of. And LG just changed all that for us. The stuff to talk about that is expected and typical fare from LG the remote is a breeze to use. Like a laser pointer just point and click. High end gaming features - 4K at 120hz with full 10-bit HDR color and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for my technical friends. Wonderful PC compatibility game consoles displayed AT THEIR MAX. 4K blu rays never looked better and even older non-4K stuff is phenomenally upscaled and made to look gorgeous. Im watching Star Wars Rebels on Disney+ with the kids for their first time and the episode where the Kyber Crystal stealing ships explode. My jaw dropped. I never saw it like that before and it breathed new life into the scene. Beautiful slick design with sleek lines and quality build materials ensure no flex and rigid construction. Included wall mount makes installing this to the wall a breeze and man does it look gorgeous against the wall like that. A perfect 10/10 TV.

I have always been a fan of LG TVs. I was just about the first in line to get this new 77 LG OLED 4K. It has the absolute best picture quality and sound quality that you can get. With the Dolby Vision 8.3 million self-lit OLED pixels the video quality is unmatched. For the sound this TV has Dolby Atmos to give that true surround sound that we all want. Once we got this TV mounted on the wall I was able to see just how impressive looking it really is. It seems huge. The Magic Remote makes it so much quicker and easier to find the programs we want. We have it set up with our LG sound bar for the best movie nights ever.

I recently got my hands on the LG OLED evo G3 77 TV and boy its a real stunner Let me break it down for you plain and simple. Picture Quality 5/5: The picture quality on this TV is jaw-dropping The colors are so vibrant and the blacks are as deep as the night. Watching movies or playing games feels like a whole new experience. Its like having a cinema in my living room. Brightness 4/5: The brightness is impressive no doubt. Its great for daytime viewing and I didnt have any issues with glare. However in very bright rooms it could be a tad brighter. But for most situations its spot on. Size 5/5: This TV is huge and thats a good thing Its like having a mini theater at home. Watching sports or action-packed movies on this big screen is a blast. Just make sure you have enough wall space for it Apps 3/5: Heres where it gets a bit tricky. I expected all the usual apps like Netflix and YouTube to be pre-installed but some were missing. I had to download them separately which was a bit of a hassle. LG please make this easier for us Magic Remote 2/5: Heres the kicker. The remote is a magic remote which means you can aim and point it. Sounds cool right? Well not for me. It made things unnecessarily complicated. I just want a simple remote with regular buttons. This was a bit of a learning curve and Im not sure Im a fan. Overall the LG OLED evo G3 77 TV is an amazing piece of tech. The picture quality and size are its standout features. If you can overlook the app setup and slightly complicated remote youll have a top-notch home entertainment experience.

I recently upgraded from a C7 55 inch TV to a G3 77 inch TV. The picture quality is great and the smart features are very smooth. I love using the pointer function of the magic remote especially when entering text on the keyboard. I only have a few minor complaints. When switching from one app to another it requires going back to the homepage. My older TV was able to launch an app switching bar at the bottom of the screen while still continuing to display the current app. Another issue is that the preset picture settings require some tweaking especially in more brightly lit rooms. Overall though this TV is a huge upgrade and definitely worth it.

Kudos to LG for keeping premium OLED going strong. Fantastic TV design very thin it looks like a picture on the wall. Although the built in bracket is amazing engineering its not for the faint of heart installing. As its not a vesa 2 foot wide mount and most likely wont hit two studs while centering on the wall. We ended up using one stud near center then using 4 heavy duty butterfly lag bolts. It seemed sketchy but my electrician said itll be fine. And apparently LG thinks so too. based on the hardware they include But in the end the TV is so close to the wall no other bracket can do that. Thank you LG for producing the greatest TV to date. I also wish to mention I found out a way to improve to sound to be very impressive as well. Use the Pro AI sound setting its VERY Good 5 stars for that too.

The colors are incredible It adds so much to the viewing pleasure. Defective panel LG refused to honor warranty

We were very excited to purchase the G3 77 tv feeling secure in its quality due to the supposed included 5 year panel warranty. However clearly LG does not stand behind their products even their top of the line OLED series. Our new tv came out of the box looking perfect. No apparent damage on the tv or the box. We had it professionally mounted/installed on the wall and shortly discovered that the tv is not functional due to a defective panel. It attempts to turn on but the screen displays a line of pixels along the end of the right side and shuts off. Support has refused a warranty repair twice on our end and also refused the retailer who also contacted LG in an attempt to help us out. LG is claiming the panel received physical damage. Which is not the case at all. In closely examining the screen a small manufacturing defect is visible inside the panel on the very bottom-right corner where the line of pixels appears. The defect presents a fine line of whitish dots on the LEDs in a diagonal angle. The tv is in otherwise perfect looking shape. There is absolutely no physical damage on the tv on the screen or otherwise. The box showed no damage or signs of mishandling during shipping. The protective plastic layer which was still on the tv when we tested it and photographed also had no damage. Any impact strong enough to damage the panel would surely be evident on the screen and box this tv is incredibly secured in the box for shipping. At present we are not able-bodied after a devastating car accident where our van flipped on its side when a speeding car ran a red light and hit us. This is why we opted to have the tv professionally installed and now we must arrange for the tv to be unmounted and boxed for a costly and very inconvenient return experience. A brand new top of the line OLED defective-out-of-the-box should 100 be covered for warranty repair. Do better for your customers who spent thousands.

One of the best TVs - Our first OLED

Ive been debating on OLED TVs for years and was always concerned about the dimness / lack of brightness for use in our living room. I had a Mini-LED TV before which had excellent black levels but this OLED takes it to the next level. Design of this 77 G3 is sleek and allows flushed mounting with the built in mount. I did spend many hours on trying to make it flushed due to how the wiring isnt meant to go in the center but through a strange channel towards the side of the TV. So to make this G3 model flushed to the wall itll take work with moving outlets in exact position etc but once youre done with the install its great. Even the speakers on this TV was so solid that I debated on returning the LG speaker set I had purchased. Its amazing how bright this TV can get and I find myself needing to make it dimmer when watching contents in the evening. Im looking forward to many years of use and I cant wait for thinner and lighter OLEDs from LG
